Corrosion Resistance

Exceptional resistance to mineral acids including hydrochloric, sulfuric, and nitric acids. Superior resistance to localized corrosion (pitting and crevice) in chloride-containing environments. Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Low carbon content prevents sensitization during welding.

Applications

The unique combination of properties makes Alloy 59 suitable for a wide range of demanding applications:

  • Chemical Processing: Reactors, heat exchangers, and columns handling aggressive media.
  • Flue Gas Desulfurization: Scrubber internals and absorber vessels.
  • Pharmaceutical: High-purity process equipment and piping systems.
  • Waste Treatment: Incineration scrubbers and waste gas treatment equipment.
  • Sour Gas: Components for oil and gas environments containing H2S and CO2.
