Overview

Monel K-500 (UNS N05500 / W.Nr. 2.4375) is a precipitation-hardened nickel-copper alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with the added advantage of greater strength and hardness. The additions of aluminum and titanium enable age hardening to nearly twice the strength of Monel 400.

Corrosion Resistance

Excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, salts, and alkaline environments, comparable to Monel 400. Resistant to hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking in marine environments. Good resistance to hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid at moderate concentrations.
