Overview

Nickel 201 (UNS N02201 / W.Nr. 2.4061) is a low-carbon version of Nickel 200 with improved resistance to embrittlement at elevated temperatures. The restricted carbon content (max 0.02%) prevents graphitization and intergranular embrittlement above 315°C.

Corrosion Resistance

Same excellent corrosion resistance as Nickel 200 in caustic and reducing environments. The low carbon content prevents intergranular attack at elevated temperatures. Particularly recommended for applications above 315°C where Nickel 200 would be susceptible to embrittlement.

Applications

The unique combination of properties makes Nickel 201 suitable for a wide range of demanding applications:

  • Caustic Production: High-temperature caustic processing equipment.
  • Chemical Processing: Reaction vessels for fluoride and chloride environments.
  • Electronics: Battery components, lead wires, and terminals.
  • Aerospace: Cryogenic components requiring good ductility.
  • Plating: Anodes and baskets for high-purity nickel plating.

Available Product Forms

Hangbo Alloy Group manufactures and supplies Nickel 201 in the following product forms, conforming to ASTM, AMS, and ASME specifications:

  • Round Bars: Diameters from 6 mm to 300 mm, hot-finished or cold-drawn, solution annealed.
  • Seamless Tubes & Pipes: Sizes from 6 mm OD to 219 mm OD, various wall thicknesses.
  • Plates & Sheets: Thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 50 mm, hot-rolled or cold-rolled.
